After registering with tngl.sh, I couldn't find the option to set a profile picture in the user profile. Is a bsky.social account required to upload an avatar?

Thanks for your help! I'm looking forward to the avatar upload feature in future updates. I think it's really important for personalization.
One of the hacky workaround I did for @bots.recaptime.dev (our service account at @recaptime.dev for setting up GitLab repository mirroring) is that I log in to the Bluesky Social webapp (just point the PDS/hosting service to https://tngl.sh server) and edit profile to add/update the profile picture. It may take a while to propagate to other apps but it worked.
in lieu of an uploaded picture, is there at least a way to change the colour of the circle?

Why not pick up the picture from Bluesky by default? It should track that, so that if the picture on Bluesky is changed, then it's also changed on Tangled.
I think that makes sense for anyone signing up via a Bluesky account in any case. Being able to set a custom profile picture here would be nice, but not having to do that at all in the majority of cases would be even nicer.

Isn't it strange? You have to go register and become a user on website B when you鈥檙e actually trying to use website A. Not every user will use Bluesky.
this has been implemented! head to your profile page and upload an image. the limit is presently 1MB but we are going to bump this to 5MB.

For the moment, yes. We haven鈥檛 invested much time into profiles鈥攊n theory this should be very easy to add! We鈥檇 just need a form to upload an image to the users PDS as a blob, and serve it up from our CDN.
